Having worked in the computer industry, I am no stranger to a long work week...especially whenever I was on-call...and I've always said that no one could ever pay me enough money to be on-call all the time.
My husband's great-uncle asked me today if I "get holidays off" like my husband. I chuckled, and then it hit me like a rock. As a SAHM, I'm on-call 24x7, and I'm not getting paid anything.
Is that a cruel irony or what?!
Okay, okay....I get paid in hugs, kisses and memories that I wouldn't have if I wasn't here enjoying this time with my kids. That is enough.
