Bake Your Bacon
Instead of frying bacon, why not bake it? Bake for 10-15 minutes at 400°. It doesn't curl up, and there is no greasy mess to clean on the stovetop. It does splatter a little in the oven, but not nearly as much as in the frying pan. If you like your bacon crispy like I do, you may have to bake it for 20 minutes. I'm really trying to simplify my life right now, and this takes the cake. I keep an eye on it, but I don't have to watch it like a hawk. And I don't have to worry about splatter in case my 1-year old gets too close to the stove. Great tip!

The Future Ain't Pretty

The story behind the URL above is about the investigation into the quality of care at Walter Reed Veteran's Hospital. If our government isn't able to provide adequate care to our veterans, how will it sustain the entire population? Obviously the military won't be in charge of civilian healthcare, but I think you get the point. Just in case, here's the equation. More government involvement equals increased taxes and decreased quality. When I was in grade school, they taught me to "just say no".
